AVOID THE XEKUTIONER
The 'X-OUT' adventure consists of these captivating stages:
Boat Transfer to Mamula Island:
Competitors will be sped to the incredible Mamula Island to start their adventure from the helipad.
X-OUT Swim:
Athletes will run to the shore and dive into the sea, escaping from the island to swim at full speed on a 1.7 km open-water course. The race will be started by the Xekutioner, a formidable figure who will be responsible for future eliminations.
T1: Meet the Xekutioner again!
15% of athletes will be eliminated by the Xekutioner, intensifying the competition. Eliminated athletes are given a time penatly and can then try to catch “The Splitter” to ovetake backmarkers and get back in the race!
X-OUT Cycle:
A tough and demanding 40 km asphalt cycle which climbs the famous serpentine above Kotor. Designed to test endurance to the max.
T2: Time to meet our friend again.
Another 15% of athletes are eliminated by the Xekutioner here, ensuring only the toughest stay in the TV format.
X-OUT Run:
6.5 km of downhill trail running and 2.5 km of “vertical” climbing. Again eliminated athletes have the opportunity to catch the leaders.
Final Summit Checkpoint:
Here it is decided who takes on the vertical K, a 2.5 km monster of a climb.
Finish Line:
The first male/ female athlete are crowned the winners and win the custom NITE watch.
X-Points:
Rewards to keep athletes motivated throughout the race, more X-Points for every km completed.
THE FORMAT:
Our pilot TV event unfolds in the picturesque coastal landscapes of Montenegro with a starting point on the historic Mamula Island, now transformed into a luxury hotel. The course showcases the breath-taking vistas of Lustica Bay and the stunning Kotor area, ensuring that every frame is a work of art.
*IMPORTANT - ALTHOUGH THIS IS AN ELIMINATION CONCEPT, YOU WILL NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE EVENT WHEN ELIMINATED, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE AFTER A FIXED TIME.
ThE SWIM:
The race starts with athletes diving into the sea from Mamula Island. They swim a challenging (and fast) 1.7km distance to the mainland, pushing their limits in open water to beat the Xekutioner.
TRANSITION 1:
At the exit of T1, 15% of the athletes are eliminated based on their finishing times. This ensures the race remains highly competitive. Any athletes outside the top 85% will be held back for 5 minutes and allowed to continue after “The Splitter”
ThE SPLITTER:
Athletes will be permitted to pass the splitter if they catch the slowest non eliminated athlete, the athletes will exchange places and be back in the race.
ThE BIKE:
The athletes embark on a tough 40 km road cycle climbing the Kotor Serpentine. This stage tests their endurance, stamina and skill as they tackle switchbacks on the steep climbs
TRANSITION 2:
Upon completing the cycle, another 15% of athletes are eliminated. This ensures that only the fittest and most skilled athletes are in the running to win the race. *Eliminated athletes will wait for 5 minutes and be allowed to continue.
FINAL CHECKPOINT (THE MOUNTAIN):
The remaining athletes head for the mountain checkpoint, where they face a new challenge. The mountain checkpoint will see who gets to climb the Vertical K as it is too dangerous to have slower athletes on the slopes.
FINAL SUMMIT PUSH (VERTICAL K):
The final stage of the race involves the remaining athletes making a daring push to the summit, ascending a vertical K. This steep and challenging climb will test their mental and physical fortitude, creating a gripping climax for viewers.
THE FINISH LINE:
The first male and first female athlete to reach the summit will be crowned the winners, achieving victory after a thrilling race. All other finishers whether Xekuted or not, will be celebrated!
X-POINTS:
X-Points will be given to reward those who get further on the course. A base level of 120 will be awarded with another point for every km completed (maximum 169).
